Why convert PDF to JPG?
PDF files are best for documents that must print and look identical everywhere. JPG is the better choice for photos you want to share, email or upload anywhere. It opens in everything: every phone, browser, OS and photo app, while PDF opens in every browser and operating system.
JPG uses lossy compression, so the converter encodes at high quality settings that look (or sound) identical to the original for everyday use.

What happens to your file
Each page is drawn by PDF.js, the open-source PDF engine built into Firefox. It renders text, vector shapes and embedded images exactly as a PDF viewer would, at twice normal screen resolution, then saves every page as an image.
Tips for a clean conversion
- Drop a whole folder's worth of PDF files at once. They convert one after another and you can download everything as a single ZIP.
- Keep your original PDF files until you have checked the results. Converting back later is rarely lossless.
- JPG is a lossy format. Convert from the best original you have, not from a file that was already compressed.
- Each page becomes its own image at twice normal resolution, so small print stays readable.
About the formats
PDF: Fixed-layout document format that looks the same on every device.
JPG: The most widely supported photo format. Small files thanks to lossy compression.
